Thanks for visiting!
And I hope you’ll come back!
If you want to know who I am, look through my tumblr. I am what I post.
My philosophy can be summed up in four works of literature:
- the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
- Lee Strobel’s “A Case for Christ“
- Michael Pollan’s “The Omnivore’s Dilemma”
- Donald Miller’s “Blue Like Jazz”
- and, of course, the seven books of J.K. Rowling’s forever phenomenal Harry Potter series.
I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for us. I believe He is the Son of God. Can I explain why it was through the Jewish religion? Can I rationalize why Jesus came 2000 years ago as opposed to some other time or place? No. I’m not going to try and explain God. That sounds like useless waste of time. I’m going to try and follow God. So far, that has been pretty useful.
When I focus on the Gospels rather than all of the other horrible things in the Bible, I see that Jesus is a total bamf.
If you haven’t opened yourself up to the idea that you might be wrong, you’re walking in blindness. Question everything. Research. Read the paper. Read books. Watch films. Talk to strangers. Don’t limit your life.
If you think Mitt Romney isn’t a liar, I’m afraid for this country. If you think that Rick Santorum follows the principles of Jesus Christ, I’m afraid for my religion. If you believe Ron Paul isn’t completely racist and sexist, I’m afraid for all the non-white males. And if you believe that Newt Gingrich’s best idea is planting a colony on the moon, you are correct.
If you think President Obama is somehow worse than the four men above me, I’m afraid for your sanity.
I am bisexual. No, I’m not confused. No, this is not a phase. No, sexuality is not a choice. And, no, bisexuality doesn’t mean I’m “half gay” or am just not “picking a side.” It is its own sexuality.
I have recovered from alcoholism, drug abuse, self harm and bulimia. My sobriety date is May 29th, 2011.
I remain recovered when I pray, when I take my inventory, when I love you, when I love me, when I do my best to accept and follow God’s will. If I do these things, I never have to hurt myself again.
